pebbles closing event

On October 13 the closing event of our project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy took place.

During the event, the most important project results were presented. Together, we have built a market platform for local trading of electricity and flexibilities the last three years and successfully tested it in the field with real participants. Most impressive is the number of transactions that have been closed within the electricity trading platform. By trading energy per quarter of an hour, more than 6,000 contracts were concluded daily with our 66 real and virtual participants alone.

During the panel discussion, the representatives of the project together with Ludwig Hartmann, parliamentary group leader of the Green Party in the Bavarian State Parliament and a user of the pebbles platform discussed the project results and future challenges.

During the project, it was recognized that local markets lead to an increase in acceptance for decentralized expansion of renewable energies. In addition, local markets can reduce the need for grid expansion. This leads to a reduction of the costs for the energy transition and to an acceleration of it.
